Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy

A sentinel node biopsy is a procedure used in the diagnosis of breast cancer. A sentinel node biopsy offers a less invasive way to determine if lymph nodes under the arm are cancerous. This helps determine the breast cancer stage. A pathologist will review the lymph nodes. If they are cancer-free, this can eliminate the need to remove additional lymph nodes.

At Breast Care Specialists, our physicians specialize in risk reduction, early detection and treatment of breast cancer. Each patient receives individualized, coordinated care using the latest technology and treatments.
