Breast Concerns & Cancer Symptoms

Breast cancer symptoms vary widely — from lumps to swelling to skin changes — and many breast cancers have no obvious symptoms at all. Symptoms that are similar to those of breast cancer may be the result of non-cancerous conditions like infection or a cyst. At Breast Care Specialists, we are focused on treating women with palpable breast masses, abnormal mammograms and breast ultrasounds, atypical nipple discharges, and abnormal breast pain.

Breast self-exam should be part of a monthly health care routine for all women, beginning in their 20s. If any noticeable breast changes occur, a doctor visit is imperative. Patients over 40 should also have an annual mammogram and physical exam by a doctor. The earlier breast cancer is detected and diagnosed, the better the chances of overcoming the disease.

The actual process of breast cancer screening and diagnosis can take weeks and involve many different kinds of tests. Waiting for results can feel like a lifetime. Our team is dedicated to getting answers in a timely manner to help achieve the best possible outcome for our patients and their loved ones.
